Crystalized Chess Set

This Chess Set is supposed to attract viewers with an ideal interest in a geological standpoint with crystals.

The purpose of this design is to give each piece a definition of form through crystals. Each piece is represented to attract the viewers eye because of the hierarchy and close attention to detail. Each crystal is formed with a dark cave like feeling because of the black toned base going around.

This is the beginning stage that drives the formality of my chess pieces.

These initial sketches provide the first steps in a theme selection. The combination of crystals formality with an elegant style is what I am trying to aim for!
